SUPER VISA CANADA ALLOWS PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS
The Super Visa Program allows parents and grandparents to come to Canada as long-term visitors to visit their children or grandchildren.
Thus, successful applicants will not need to renew their visitor status every six months (this condition of the Temporary Resident Visa – TRV), as they will receive a super visa for visitors with the right of a stay of 2 consecutive years, with multiple entries and valid for up to 10 years.
Immigration officers will take into account several factors before deciding whether your parents or grandparents will be entitled to a long visit to Canada.
They will consider, for example, the following factors:
- Prove that parents or grandparents have strong ties with their country of origin;
- Present Medical Exams required by Immigration Authorities;
- Inform the specific purpose of the visit;
- Inform the family and financial situation of the parents or grandparents;
- the overall economic and political stability of their country of origin;
- an invitation letter from a Canadian child or grandchild or permanent resident
The Canadian children or grandchildren or permanent residents willing this Super Visa to his parents or grandparents shall:
- prove that they have a minimum income sufficient to financially support all members of their family and dependents, including parents or grandparents who will arrive in Canada.
*The Federal Government annually publishes an updated list of minimum income values for this type of visa.
- provide a written statement that the child or grandchild will give all financial support to parents or grandparents when in Canadian territory;
- Acquire a valid Canadian medical insurance for at least one year that must last for the entire length of stay of your parents or grandparents in Canada.
