Express Entry is an Online Electronic System that manages application processes for Permanent Residence in Canada and has specific Immigration programs. They are:

– Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSW)

– Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)

– Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

 – Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): Canadian Provinces and Territories may also select part of these candidates for their provincial programs.

Express Entry Program Candidates who have received a valid job offer from a Canadian employer or an appointment by the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) will be promptly invited to apply for permanent residency and receive more points in their evaluation within the pool.

What do I need to qualify for Express Entry?

To join the pool and apply for Express Entry, you will have to qualify in one of the immigration programs, for example, you will need to have:

– at least one year (full-time or part-time equivalent) of skilled work experience abroad (your country of origin, for example); and / or

– At least two years (full-time or part-time equivalent) of work experience. If the experience is not Canadian, you will need a job offer; and / or

– At least one year (full-time or part-time equivalent) of work experience for a Canadian employer in Canada;

– Other prerequisites.

The purpose of Express Entry is to attract qualified professionals in different areas and economic segments to work in Canada and develop the country’s economy.  The cost of legal opening of the process by ImmiServices will depend on the candidate’s Work Experience and other prerequisites, evaluating the process as a whole.

CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) processes approximately 80% of the applications within 6 months of receipt of all necessary documentation regardless of whether you have any work experience in Canada or if you were selected by a Provincial Program (PNP).
